The Eventing Breeding Program
At Team CEO Eventing
We at Team CEO Eventing pride ourselves on breeding International quality event horses. We are breeding for future upper level event horses using qualified stallions and very, very special, hand-selected mares. We have spent years collecting exceptional mares that have bloodlines proven to produce Advanced Level event horses to help our breeding program become world class. Below is a list of our broodmares.

Moonlight Memories
1996 16.2h Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare
Due April 29, 2008
Information on Moonlight Memories:
Sprite is a lovely young lady... She retired sound after an extensive racing career, with clean legs and good feet. She is the old-school type thoroughbred, with proper bone and durability. She is a great granddaughter of Secretariat, and is sired by a stallion who produced numerous upper level jumpers. Sprite stands at 16.1h.

Why We Chose Moonlight Memories:
What an amazing opportunity! After years of searching, we have purchased Moonlight Memories, the dam of our 7yo Advanced level event horse, Widespread Panic (aka Nemo)!! She is his spitting image... She is a bright orange chestnut just like Nemo, with his same wonderfully powerful hip that makes him an incredible jumper. Nemo’s dam has his same incredibly uphill build and the same uphill neck. She has a beautiful head and exactly the same personality. All these years I have been dutifully searching for a horse by his sire, and it was his DAM that was passing on so many of those traits that I cherish. She is a find of a lifetime. And we are so lucky that Nemo was her very first foal when she was only 5yo. Today, at 13yo, we are optimistic that she still has many more world class foals to produce!! I am so excited about her future as a broodmare with us. (Click on Nemo's photo for more information on him.)

Currently In Foal To:
Monarchos was the winner of the Kentucky Derby in 2001, winning in the third fastest time in history. He carries the same lineage as our Widespread Panic's sire, thus making this anticipated foal a 3/4 brother to our Advanced Level event horse!!

Sprite
1995 16.1h Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare
Due Summer 2008
Information on Sprite:
Sprite is a lovely young lady... She retired sound after an extensive racing career, with clean legs and good feet. She is the old-school type thoroughbred, with proper bone and durability. She is a great granddaughter of Secretariat, and is sired by a stallion who produced numerous upper level jumpers. Sprite stands at 16.1h.

Why We Chose Sprite:
Sprite is an exciting sister to our Advanced level event horse Never Stop Dreaming (pictured at left)! Never Stop Dreaming is an Advanced Level Event Horse whom we produced to International status and CIC*** success. He was exported in 2007 to Belgium where he has joined the Belgium Olympic Team as a prospect for the European Championships. In his entire career at the Advanced level, he produced all clear Cross Country rounds without a single jump penalty at Advanced. In his entire career at that level, he had only one rail at Advanced. He is a truly amazing jumper and an amazing cross country horse. Only a few horses in the world reach the Three Star Level, and he is one of them! We searched for YEARS to find a sister to him, and are thrilled to have Sprite to carry on his success.

Currently In Foal To:
Look for her first sporthorse foal in 2009! We are so thrilled that she is in foal to Bridlewood Farm's amazing Hanoverian stallion Fabuleaux... We can't wait for the result!!! Fabuleaux is a Class I Elite Hanoverian Stallion, 16.3h. He was 100-day tested in Germany with a 10 canter, 9 trot, 9 walk, 9 temperament, 9 willingness. Fabuleaux is sired by Fabriano, champion of his 100 day test and simply legendary. (Information from www.bridlewoodfarm.com)

Cameo
2003 16.1h Gray Thoroughbred Mare
Due approximately August 5, 2009
Information on Cameo:
Cameo has come to join Team CEO Eventing in 2008! She is a lovely 2003 thoroughbred mare, and came with her colt Cameron at her side. She produced a gorgeous Thoroughbred colt in 2008 by a son of Saint Ballado. She passes along her good looks, correct limbs, and intelligence. Her first foal, Cameron, was so intelligent and curious that his favorite activity at one month old was to climb the cross country bank in his paddock! She is an excellent mother and loves her job.

Why We Chose Cameo:
Cameo epitomizes the body type that we are all looking for in the modern event horse. Cameo is a lovely height, standing right at 16.1h. She is straight legged and correct. Cameo has a beautiful outline, with a great, powerful hip and a beautiful long neck. She is typey and gorgeous. She is sired by the Kentucky Derby Winner Grindstone! Her pedigree includes Blushing Groom, who has contributed to the sire line of many jumpers and event horses, including a CEO student Kathryn Willdeboer's Intermediate Level event horse "Supernova." Her pedigree also includes Sir Gaylord, who produced upper level event horses.

Currently In Foal To:
Look for her first sporthorse foal in 2009! We are so thrilled that she is being bred to our new Team CEO stallion Nightfall. Nightfall is sired by the Olympic Event Horse "Windfall II", by advanced level event horse Habicht. Nightfall is out of Hail to the Chief, an Intermediate Level event mare whom Megan took to the North American Young Riders Championships, winning an individual and team ribbon. Nightfall is a gorgeous black Trakehner stallion who epitomizes the modern day event horse with striking good looks, excellent warmblood movement, and incredible scope over fences. All this paired with an unparalleled work ethic and passion for eventing adds to our excitement about Nightfall and his future as an international level event horse! At just 4yo, Ryan is proving that he loves his job... He is currently preparing for his eventing career and proving to be incredibly easy, going all three phases in a happy mouth. He is fearless on XC, and took naturally to water, ditches, and banks... Amazing! The easiest horse we've ever owned, and he happens to be an incredibly talented stallion. And he is handling his double-duties with as much class and trainability as anything else in his life... He did his first Mini Trial with a working student in the morning and was brilliant, then quietly proceeded to be collected in the afternoon for his first breedings. The next day, right back to work, being ridden in the ring with mares, without a single complaint. This is a very special horse who is born and bred to event!! Ryan proceeded to WIN the 4yo Young Event Horse Competition at the prestigious international event Maui Jim HT in IL in July 2008. Just a week later, he competed at the Gemwood HT, where he tied for the lead in the Open Beginner Novice division finishing on his dressage score! He is quickly and easily moving up the levels, currently competing at novice and ridiculously ready for Training. He was recently the Champion at 2'6" jumpers, and showed very successfully to 3'6" as a four year old. He has unparallelled scope combined with absolute beauty, plus the best disposition we've ever seen in a young horse... And that is compared to geldings!

Under the Influence (Roofie)
2002 16.0h Gray Thoroughbred Mare
Due approximately May 21, 2008
Information on Roofie:
Roofie is a wonderful young lady! She stayed sound through numerous starts on the racetrack, and yet was tough enough to come out of the situation very, very sound and with incredibly clean legs. She has great feet and is very structurally correct. She has consistently scored at the top of the dressage field in her very young eventing carreer, and absolutely adores jumping. In addition, Roofie has an amazing, effortless gallop that epitomizes her future as an upper level eventhorse.

Why We Chose Roofie:
Roofie began her eventing career with us while we were in Aiken SC for the winter of 2008. She quickly proved that she had been waiting to event her whole life, and dove right in! She loves water and ditches, and loves cross country... She immediately began eventing, where she placed a solid 6th in the tough company of Area 3 in her very first outing! She continued to impress us, as she upgraded to Novice in her second start, jumping double clean on XC. In her third outing, she finished a strong 5th place, finishing on her dressage score of 38.4 at Novice! Next, she ran Novice with one of our working students, finishing on her dressage score for a 6th place ribbon. She then finished 3rd and 5th at Combined Tests, scoring 27.5 and 37.5 in dressage respectively! This fancy young mare LOVES eventing. She was slated to move up to training in July 2008, just 4 months after her first ever event... But this spring we needed another broodmare, and we simply couldn't resist taking a chance at producing our next advanced horse from her. Though she is a favorite ride of the Working Students and they all begged to not breed her, We believe that all of the qualities that make her a great event horse herself recommend herself for breeding future event horses... We believe that one should not breed a mare simply because she is a mare or because she has become unsound for any other purpose----Instead, we believe in breeding exceptional mares and stallions to produce exceptional horses. And while we adore riding and competing Roofie, we can't help but hold our breath that she is so very nice.... Nightfall is so very nice... What if the combination produces our next advanced horse??? So Roofie will take a little time off to have a foal for us, for the greater good. She's 100% sound, so next year she'll return to her competitive lifestyle and look to move up to Training and Prelim. She is a very talented young lady and will only be 7yo at that time, so the future still lies ahead of her. Maybe one day she'll be competing against her foal!

Information on Kate:
Sired by Par the Course and out of Rio's Ruby. She will be presented to the AWR this fall.

She carries the highly popular TB line of "Riverman", known to be an athletic sire of sporthorses. She also carries the Hail to Reason line, an excellent Turn-To line for eventing. She is typey and correct, with great size and an excellent long neck and powerful hip.

Sweet Adelaide (Addy)
2000 17h Oldenburg Mare
Information on Addy:
Addy is a gorgeous 17h dark bay Hanoverian line Oldenburg mare, with experience in the hunter ring as well as eventing. Her sire is Alpenstern, a gorgeous 1985 17h chestnut Oldenburg stallion, who has produced numerous successful jumpers, hunters, and dressage horses. Click here to view photo of Alpenstern, Addy's sire. Addy is a paternal half sister to Affiniti, a fabulous mare on the same cross as Addy, won region Horse of The Year for Yearling breeding USEF in 1998.

Why We Chose Addy:
Addy is one of the most beautiful mares we've ever seen.... She absolutely screams presence when she walks into the barn. She has impeccable conformation and a loving disposition. Addy is everything that modern sporthorse breeders are looking for... She is a goregous, suspended, floaty mover, talented enough to be a dressage horse. Yet she is athletic enough to be forward to her fences with excellent knees and scope. She is an Oldenburg mare, descending from a Hanoverian line. We are so excited about her future as a broodmare! Addy experienced a successful career in the hunter ring with her young rider owner, before we were able to add her to our sporthorse breeding program..... It is our hope that Addy and Ryan will produce a future advanced star!! We acquired Addy very late in 2008, so we will breed her for the first time in 2009.

Currently In Foal To:
Look for her first sporthorse foal in 2010! In early 2009, Addy will be bred to our new Team CEO stallion Nightfall.
