Horses Under $10,000
Bobstone
2003 Gray Thoroughbred Mare, 16.1h
Outstanding Broodmare for Racing or Sporthorse Use
Cameo is by the Kentucky Derby winner Grindstone. She is a lovely 2003 thoroughbred mare, and came with her colt Cameron at her side. She produced a gorgeous Thoroughbred colt in 2008 by a son of Saint Ballado. She passes along her good looks, correct limbs, and intelligence. Her first foal, Cameron, was so intelligent and curious that his favorite activity at one month old was to climb the cross country bank in his paddock! Her second foal, Eve, is by our stallion Nightfall, and is a truly exceptional upper level eventing prospect that we plan to keep to campaign at the upper levels. She is an excellent mother and loves her job.
Horses $10,000 to $20,000
Tortellini
2005 Gray 15.3h Connemara/TB Gelding
Adoreable laid-back, easy going guy
**Tortellini is actively empoloyed in our eventing lesson program and is very special to us---he would only be sold to a wonderful home, to raise funds to compete our upper level horses.... We'd really prefer to keep this outstanding guy!** Tortellini is an absolute doll.... He is easy going and kind, forgiving and mild-mannered. He is a favorite with the kids, as he is smooth to ride and very quiet. Tortellini has schooled successfully over starter and beginner novice fences both at our farm's cross country course, and at other facilities. He travels brilliantly, loads easily, and is a great babysitter for horses who aren't as amazing as he is! He is quiet in new places, in large groups of riders, out cross country schooling, and on trails. Tortellini has a stellar jump, with lovely square knees and a very careful jump. As one of our students said recently, 'It doesn't matter what the jump is---barrels, ditches, water, banks, whatever---it's all the same to Tortellini! ' He is smooth and comfortable to ride, goes all three phases in a snaffle, and happily rides on a loose rein. He is terrific over ditches, water, you name it. Quietly steps over ditches, and has even schooled training level drops into water without batting an eye! In fact, during his very first water school, he was so sensible and kind in the water and easy to jump down a 3' bank into water, that he ended up giving leads down the Training drop to about a dozen horses! What a star. This kind, sensible, forgiving guy is also adoreable and a super cute mover with a fancy jump. What a terrific guy!! He has been ridden by a variety of riders, from 5yo beginners to adult amateurs, and is kind to every one. Currently jumping 2'3" courses, with tons more ability. Schooled successfully starter and beginner novice level cross country both at home and at other facilities, and was a star!! Travels well and great in new places. Also competing successfully in the 2' hunters as well!!
La Bien Vie
2006 Gray 15.3h & growing, TB mare
Preparing for her first event!
La Bien Vie, aka "Vie", is an extremely exciting young sporthorse prospect. She was hand selected by Megan as a youngster, along with her sister "La Vie En Rose", as a talend upper level eventing prospect. Her grandsire is one of our all-time favorite eventing sires, and her sire is an exquisite 16.2h gray stallion who epitomizes everything we're looking for in an event horse. She is a full TB, but with an outstanding temperament, excellent bone, and tremendous feet. Vie is unraced, as we have owned her since she was a baby. She and her sister grew up at our sister location, Hidden Hollow Farm, living in the mountains and tackling the mountain terrain and streams. Thus, she is extremely agile and sure-footed, and should be excellent with water as all our babies from that farm are. (She loves to play in the creek!) We are so excited about her potential.... She is good looking and talented, yet easy going and kind and sweet. Since our other gray mare Under The Influence is beginning to change our mind about mares, we're finding that Vie is following in Roofie's footsteps as a stellar mare with an outstanding temperament. Even as a young horse, she has a naturally impeccably balanced canter. We can't say enough good things about her, and are so excited that our hand-selected young prospect will burst onto the eventing scene in 2010. Working happily walk/trot/canter on the bit, schooling through the Beginner Novice Level test. Ridden all over the farm, even in the snow. Jumping 12" courses, including tarps, gates, and grids. Wonderfully level headed lady who loves to jump and is very, very willing. Super soft snaffle mouth. Super special young lady with amazing bloodlines.
Under The Influence
2003 Gray Thoroughbred Mare, sticked at 15.3h
Terrific Novice Level Event Horse.... Very kind, willing, and forgiving!!!
(CLICK on photo for larger version.) In over twenty years of eventing, Megan has never really met a mare that she thought was pleasant and easy and fun.... Until this one. "Roofie" is an amazing individual who everyone fights over to get to ride! She is an amazing mare, ultra dependable and always fulfilling our high expectations. She has such an amazing jump that it makes Megan stop and smile. Roofie is such a special girl.... She has an easy, pleasing personality, and can happily fill in at Pony Camp with riders as young as 8 years old jumping courses and hacking her all over the farm. Yet for the more aspiring rider, she has the talent and scope to jump as big as you want to go! Her jump has incredible scope and she appears to be made of springs! Roofie is happily jumping Novice level courses, and schooling Training level. This darling girl has all the right qualities---she is steady and dependable and fancy and easy in the dressage, careful and scopey in show jumping, and brave, kind, and soft in the bridle on XC. She goes all three phases in a snaffle!!! VERY light in the mouth XC.... You could gallop her with one hand on the reins. She is brilliant with water, banks, and ditches. Has schooled coffins, banks, training level banks into water, ditch and walls, etc. Dressage in the 20's and 30's. She is SO easy to ride on the flat, very easy to sit and very light and steady in the bridle. Three fun gaits! Eventing successfully at Novice, ready for Training level early spring 2010, and I would be she'd be ready for Prelim by next fall if we still own her.

ASAP is a very neat horse... He is a wonderful prospect for the future! When Megan was horse--shopping in Michigan, looking at a different horse---she fell in love at first sight with Sheldon. He is so kind and sweet and interested in everything. We think he'll be a tremendous eventing prospect for the future. We purchased him off the track as a 3yo with only a few starts. We have nicknamed him "Sheldon" for the baby seahorse in the movie "Finding Nemo" who befriends the character Nemo... We're hoping that Sheldon will want to follow in Nemo's adventurous international footsteps. ~~~~~*UPDATE May 09* We're certain now that Sheldon is a very special man!! He competed in his very first horse trial on May 10, 2009.... He was a dream in the dressage--quiet and workmanlike and through--and jumped double clean in all jumping phases. We were so thrilled with his performance all day... Then at the end of the day we looked at the scoreboard, and wow! He scored a terrific 25.0 in his very first outing! He easily won his division and we're so excited for his future!!! ~~~~~ On 5/24/09, he ran the BN at May Daze HT, where he was a little nervous in the dressage but still pulled off a 39.0. He had just one rail in SJ and jumped double clean in XC.
~~~~~ 6/17/09, Sheldon had a nice dressage test at the Queeny Park HT in the Open Beginner Novice... He was really good, and the trot work was especially exciting. He was 3rd after dressage, just a few points off the lead. Sheldon was terrific on XC, galloping around beautifully, even after losing a shoe. He was a darling! In show jumping, Megan was nervous for him, as the course was very challenging, very hilly, on grass, and in completely flat cups. He was SO terrific, and didn't touch a pole to finish double clean! We were so excited to think he finished third in his third ever horse trial.... But when the awards were given, his clear round had separated him from the pack, and he WON!!!!!!! 1st at Queeny Park HT finishing on dressage score of 38.0 in OBN-C. ~~~~ *UPDATE July 09* Sheldon and Megan competed in the World Beginner Novice Championships at Flying Cross Farm. He was TERRIFIC all weekend, with many pros and advanced riders in the division and 17 horse in the division. He was wonderful in dressage, scoring a terrific 24.5 in dressage leading the division! He continued to be one of only 47% of starters to jump double clean around the championship show jumping course. Then he was only one of two horses in the division to be able to jump double clean on XC! He led from start to finish, adding nothing to his dressage score of 24.5, winning the first ever World Beginner Novice Championships! All at just 4yo!
1st Flying Cross HT, 25.0 dressage
1st Queeny Park HT BN, 38.0 dressage
1st World Beginner Novice Championships, 24.5 dressage
Berke is an outstanding prospect for the upper levels. He should excel in the Young Event Horse classes as well! He is a combination of a great brain and work ethic, with lovely movement and an outstanding jump. He is sure to be a special guy for the future!!!
Color Treatment
4yo Paint/Thoroughbred Gelding, Sticked at 15.2h
Eventing at Novice
Color Treatment is a incredibly special guy.... "Boscoe," as he is known around the farm, is a personality to fall in love with. Boscoe is cocky and brave, and exudes everything an event horse should be! Boscoe has never met a jump he didn't love, and absolutely adores cross country. We loaned him to a student to take to a novice HT when her horse couldn't go at the last minute, and she came back telling us that he's one of the most enjoyable horses she's ever ridden on cross country. This colorful guy is sure to be a star.... He is drop dead gorgeous, with wild coloring and an amazing tail. Boscoe is a beautiful, fancy, uphill mover, with an amazing canter and a natural ability for flying changes and tempi changes. He is an energetic, forward thinking horse with plenty of stamina and gallop. Boscoe goes all three phases in a happy mouth snaffle. Boscoe is like riding a tiger on the cross country---he is clever, sure footed, and brave as all get out. He is the complete package---a fancy mover, a brave bold cross country horse, and a careful stylish show jumper. Megan keeps him as her personal ride, and absolutely loves this gorgeous guy. We're looking forward to eventing him for quite some time, but we would offer him for sale to a terrific home if we found someone who adores him as much as Megan does!
Probable Cause, also known as Basil, is an exceptionally talented individual. His sire, Radjah Z, was a renowned jumper and sired multiple Grand Prix Showjumpers, including one Olympic show jumping finalist. He is a very good mover, with a lofty suspended trot and an uphill, cadenced canter. He is one of those rare individuals who was born with so much scope and so much talent that he finds 4' to be a simple warmup fence. Basil inherited the best of both worlds, gaining the movement and jump of the Oldenburg and the incredible gallop, heart, and stamina of the thoroughbred. He LOVES to jump and adores cross country. This incredibly cross country machine is only 6yo, but has schooled Preliminary and Intermediate easily. He is successfully eventing at the Preliminary level currently with an 18 year old rider. Most recently, they finished double clean cross country at their first Training Level Three Day Event, and placed a terrific 8th place at Gemwood Horse Trials in the Preliminary Division, being one of only three pairs to go double clean XC. Basil is an incredibly talented young horse that is a strong four star prospect for the future. We purchased him to be our next advanced horse and firmly believe he will fill that aspiration, but would also consider offers to a terrific, talented home as unfortunately the farm is a business and we have bills to pay. Buy him before you have to watch him go to Rolex!!
Fizz is the sweetest, friendliest foal you'll ever meet..... Her favorite moment this summer was during pony camp, when she had a dozen children petting her all at once... She loves people! This exceptionally talented young lady is bred to be an international champion. Her dam, Sprite, is a sister to our first advanced horse, Never Stop Dreaming. NSD competed at the advanced level for years, staying remarkably sound and without a single XC jump fault at that level. He was later purchased and exported to Belgium, purchased by the Belgian Olympic Team as a team horse. It takes an incredibly nice horse to be exported to Europe! Fizz's sire, Fabuleaux, is an incredible Class I rated Elite black Hanoverian dressage stallion. Fabuleux received Star Awards for the following: (1) his outstanding scores in conformation and all gaits at this inspection, (2)a second Star Award due to his outstanding German 100-Day Test scores, and (3) his third Star Award for siring over 10 Premium foals! This is a breeding cross of a lifetime for an ambitious rider. All this talent, and Fizz's temperament is AMAZING!! We are offering all of our 2009 foal crop for sale (sadly!!) till the first one sells (to help pay for their existence), then we'll keep the others.... The choice is yours!! Take advantage of the great prizes in the new Future Event Horse Series, and save big $$$ by buying your next star while they're young and growing up with them. All foals from our farm have been handled daily and are very people oriented. All have been taught to lead, are up to date on vaccs, and have started with the farrier. *UPDATE* Fizz and her dam traveled to the ISR/Oldenburg NA inspections in September, where her mother was accepted into the Main Mare Book. This allowed Fizz to be presented for full Oldenburg registration. She was easily approved into the Oldenburg registry, and was branded as a full Oldenburg!!
