Eventing at Training, shown in Prelim CT, Ready for Preliminary

Fabulous mover & jumper. Half brother to Olympic showjumper. Top prospect for any discipline... Easily an international prospect in eventing, and a great find for an ambitious rider. We're happy to keep him and take him all the way! D & SJ in snaffle, xc in three ring. He is a light cribber, but solved by using a feed bucket on floor. Placed 4th at Greater Dayton HT and 4th at Spring Bay HT, so he loves to earn ribbons!! Just finished his first TRAINING level Mini Trial with a 32.6 in dressage, double clean cross country to WIN the division!! Also just ribboned in his very first Preliminary CT with a 39 in dressage with a rider who was doing her first time at that level. Very talented horse with the whole world ahead of him!
Jumped clean in SJ and XC at Kentucky Classique HT in September 2008, taking his working student around her first novice---in her first event! He was an absolute doll and picture perfect around both courses. Afterwards, he got the opportunity to go schooling at the Kentucky Horse Park. The entire Training Level course was still flagged, so we sent Basil & Chelsea out of the box and they jumped round the ENTIRE training level course--which was very challenging and caused many eliminations--and they jumped around CLEAN!! To finish off his weekend, Basil went ahead and jumped 5 preliminary fences for good measure, and he jumped all clean and happily and confidently. This horse just jumps better and better the bigger the jumps get.... Prelim height is only the tip of the iceberg. Has also schooled Preliminary at Flying Cross very successfully.Very talented young warmblood cross who loves his job. Recently schooled all of the training and most of the Prelim at Masterson Station (site of the very challenging Spring Bay HT) and he was a super star... LOVES to jump the big fences, and was especially brilliant at the preliminary corner! Jumped double clean XC at Jumpstart HT at Training, taking his 18yo rider around her first Training and in only her second event! He was a star, and this pair ribboned in 10th! This is a brave, good jumping, upper level talent that could go all the way with the right rider. It is so special to find a warmblood cross who loves the XC as much as Basil!!
As of October 5, 2008: Basil is showing talent to be an advanced level event horse. With his show jumping breeding, he finds even the biggest fences to be small and simple and fun. He is currently jumping around Preliminary level cross country courses with an 18year old young rider, and doing brilliantly. He is ready for Preliminary. At this point, he has proven to us that he has what it takes to be a top international event horse, and he is only 5yo. He will only be sold to a very talented, very ambitious rider who would take him very far (where he wants to go!). Otherwise, we will keep him and take him there ourselves. Inquiries welcomed, but we reserve the right to refuse any offer. This is a very special horse, and you WILL be hearing more from him in the future.
