4/21 River Glen Update
photo

The weather this weekend could not be more different than Spring Bay... Sunny, mid 70's, and absolutely lovely.  We brought four horses to River Glen this weekend.

Widespread Panic is running Intermediate this weekend.  His warmup was brilliant, and his trotwork was lovely, but in his canter work he insisted on doing tempis through the entire cantering portion of his test!  Ooops.  At least they were pretty tempis, eh?  He show jumped really well (no trotting), but the scores are definitely not reflecting the reality... Typical for this event.

Spot Treatment had the BEST test of his life, and one of the best of my career... He was PERFECT!!!   Bah Humbug, they still scored him a 37.  I was more than bummed, but that's life... He show jumped REALLY well; the best ever!  The SJ at River Glen is HUGE and it's even larger when you're looking through the ears of a 15h appy.  I got so happy, in fact, that we missed a turn and had to re-present, earning 4 faults in an otherwise terrific round!  Good boy!

Notting Hill was also excellent today... He had his typical fantastic dressage test, but for the first time in his life was scored a 46???  Don't know about that one, but more importantly he was brilliant in showjumping, with just 2 rails... A REAL accomplishment at River Glen.  And he had a blast!

Gandalf and Jenniffer Hart are here with us this weekend...  G jumped beautifully, really proving that he's a tremendous event horse. (And one of my favortie!)  The xc will be challenging, which should only prove to their benefit!

Sunday we'll have four XC rides, and then truck home... There is a lack of cell phone service on the showgrounds, so I appologize but will be impossible to reach until Sunday afternoon when we head home.  But we're looking forward to having great news to report!!

And on another note, let me just say that the spirit of Team CEO never ceases to surprise me... I was unable to bring my trailer this weekend, as it's still at the shop... I thought I might have to withdraw from River Glen!  (Hmm, don't think Ziggy would want me to ride him to Tennessee!)  Jenniffer was kind enough to take two of my boys and Holly was kind enough to let me borrow her trailer this weekend... It was so kind of them, and I can't express how much I appreciate it!

And on a final note, we've added video to the website!!  Check out the "Horses for Sale" page, as Kathryn has taped a few of those boys for the website... Emily, you started a trend!!! Hopefully more video to come this week.

UPDATES! Spot Treatment at Prelim, Widespread Panic at Intermediate, and Notting Hill at Training ran a "How to Do Cross Country" clinic today... They were amazing! All three ran clean! We finished 9th at OI, 7th at OP, and 5th at OT!!

Students were fantastic, too... Jenniffer Hart achieved her final 3day qualifier on Gandalf, with their best XC round at Prelim ever! Jenn O'Neill joined us for the weekend, and achieved their first clean Intermediate xc run! They were both gorgeous!
