Fair Hill dressage day was warm & lovely, and Randy was definitely ready to go!  He had a fantastic warm-up and went to the ring happy & in-tune.  The beginning of his test was fine, and then in the middle he chose to canter both trot half passes!!!   Bummer!  Scoring three "2's" are kind of hard to recover from!  The comforting moments came in the canter work... He was really lovely in the canter,  and even achieved BOTH flying changes cleanly!!  The canter work was wonderful, but the trot work was also canter work... haha.  With the scores being really steep for the weekend (the leader when I went, after 30  horses, was on a 60.0!), we scored a 77.0 in dressage.  It was really dissappointing, b/c we needed a 75 for a qualifier, and he's never failed to produce a qualifying dressage test before.  The time off this summer really came back to bite me in the bud.

A couple of top riders (including the leaders) were expressing their suprise for the overly high scores...  It's time to move forward to the weekend, and see if we can redeem ourselves a little!!!!!!!!  Oh well, one step down, three to go.  We'll keep you posted!
