10/27 Foxhunt anyone?
photo

How bout this?  We want to have a mock foxhunt!  Howard, Austin, and I spent today out working on the new property, and let me tell you... There's a lot of Team CEO you haven't seen yet!  The boys are hard at work to mow and clear trails for us all, and we are so excited to show it all to you!

I was thinking perhaps that we might do a mock foxhunt??  Here's how this would work... Austin and Howard have cleared alot of land and trails for us... There would be a predetermined (surprise) course as if we were following a fox (no actual fox though, and no dogs) and we'll go off around the property (walk, trot, canter) and might happen to jump anything that just might get in our way!  It'd be a fun way to expore the new addition, and a fun activity for November.   And you'll never know how many jumps we might come along... :)

Anyone?

Sounds like a lot of fun! Norad and I want to come and play, especially if there is no real fox and no dogs. Maybe a guy with a horn would be OK...;->

LOL... We've been setting fences over on the new property, and Austin worked ALL day today mowing and making trails. And the NEATEST thing is that part of the property is in corn, so Austin made us a RIDING corn maze!!! haha

Definitely no dogs and no fox... Just walk/trot/canter in a field, past or over jumps (optional), and having fun! We have 70 acres of land to play on now!

Ali, do you know when you're unavailable on Saturday?

Everyone... We're trying to organize a weekend of fun stuff... Saturday we're looking at having Bareback Jumpers where we'll run the class as a Gambler's Choice, but with three rounds. Round 1 you'll ride on your horse... Rounds 2 and 3 you'll ride on another horse whose name you'll draw from a hat! It'll be fun and challenging and very much a rider contest... Fun stuff!

Then on Sunday we're running a Mock Foxhunt where we'll jump lots of XC jumps in new places, ride around the new property, and have a few special surprises in the meantime.

Would noon Saturday and 2pm Sunday work for everyone? If not, when would work?

:)

2 on Sunday is perfect for me and Norad. Saturday I will be at Snowbird with Patrick, but you all know I was pretty chicken about the bareback thing anyway. Norad doesn't like my butt bones poking his back, so he and I will just watch for pictures of you brave guys.. Who's gonna break that 8'2" record?

Great fun today! We had 18 riders for our Mock Foxhunt, and it was a blast! Howard cut us many new logs to jump and Austin made an entire corn maze! We jumped just about everything on the farm, highlighted by jumping the new 4' Steeplechase fence!!!!! WOW! Holly/Killian, Ali/Alex, Rene/Vaughn, Nicola/Thatcher, and Colin all made this look easy... You are all so impressive.

The "winner" who found the "fox" was Casey on Abby. Honorable Mentions (who found "groundhogs" instead of the fox) to Holly/Killian, Rene/Vaughn, and Mike/Spud. The special prize went to Joe/Zack for finding the "skunk" instead of the fox! Several others walked away with goodies as well... We all relished in drinks and cookies and corn for the horses, and it was great fun! Thanks to everyone for coming!

*Disclaimer... All animals were stuffed animals, as we definitely wouldn't have let Joe go home with a skunk otherwise!* Hahahaha

Thanks, Megan, today was a blast! I'm glad I rode Vaughn, he was such a superstar! I think Spar would have had a mental meltdown with all the cantering horses (heaven forbid), although I think the grand prize goes to Gina for being afraid of the peanut butter cookies. Hahahahahaha!
What a great day.

Tom deffinitely deserves the most honourable mention - I think the steeplechase was taller than he was!
